COFFEE BLENDS
Coffee blending is almost a lost art. The trend today is to origin named straight coffees, blends of casual convenience or blends sacrificing flavor to lower the cost. We follow a different path. We have access to 125 years of blending experience along with an inclination to use wonderful estate coffees as ingredients. We roast each coffee in our blends and to its purpose in the blend. We mix several coffee to gain a combination of flavor, aroma and body that is more satisfying to many people than the individual coffees in the blend.
AMERICAN BREAKFAST BLEND
This is one of our favorite old time blends with great staying power. Mexican coffee based, it has an interesting counterpoint flavor, light aroma and mellow body.
BAKER'S BLEND
We created this mix of Central American and Colombian coffees to go well with pastry at a well known Milwaukee bakery. Our roast is a full city, which develops a satin flavor and an fine aroma that goes well with pastry.
ICE ROAD BLEND
Our darkest blend moderates an espresso edge with compatible regular roasts. Like an Apostle Islands Ice Road, it is complex, something exrta, a marvelous way to get where you want to go when you are up for it.
ISLAND BLEND
This Brazil coffee based blend 1875. It is our most forgiving coffee and stand up especially well under heat. It suits a wide range of demanding taste preferences.
MOCHA JAVA BLEND
We blend this renowned coffee blend two ways - special request pure Mocha Yemen/Java Estate and the other more affordable version on our price list with substitute coffees replicating the traditional flavor.
NORTH COAST BLEND
Our first choice for after dinner occasions. It is a balance of mild, robust and dark roast coffees that has a sweet rather than bitter dark roast aftertaste.
ORGANIC COFFEE
It is ironic that innovation in quality coffee production has prompted a return to its organic origins. Small, independent holdings, shaded for slow maturity, hardy, flavorful tree varieties and intensive hand cultivation all combine to produce top quality under the right growing conditions. Many organic coffees meet the criteria of shade grown and/or bird friendly, fair trade and sustainable production. This topic is very well addressed in a 36 page essay and bibliography on the web by Jennifer McLean at Coffee Contact.
TRAVELER ORGANIC BLEND
This all organic blend has lots of French Roast for those who love to take coffee when traveling. It keeps well and tastes good at any temperature.
